Osteoporosis Reversal Diet
Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis- my grandmothers had it, my mother suffers from it, my aunts suffer from it, my last landlady suffered from it, my friends 10 years my senior suffer from it, heck, it is every where. Weakened bones, hip fractures, vertebral degradation and compression, neck problems, knee and hip problems, often resulting in replacement surgery… the list is almost endless. Until I started researching the subject, I was beginning to encourage my mother to consider knee replacement surgery.
But then I learned some stats…
-An estimated 10 to 28 million Americans are diagnosed with osteoporosis from the 50+ demographic.
-33 million people, mostly women, are dealing with diminished bone density.
-Close to 1.2 million bone fractures in the USA each year are related to osteoporosis.
-Females are VERY vulnerable to osteoporosis.
-50,000 people die each year from complications from osteoporous fractures.
-Up to one-fifth of the patients dealing from osteoporosis land in nursing homes.
-At menopause, bone loss percentages range from 4% to 8%.
-Commonly, osteoporosis is compression and fracturing of the bones in the spine, called “compression fractures” – better known as a “dowager hump.”
-Every year, 300,000 women are afflicted with hip fractures due to diminished bone density from osteoporosis. Of those, approximately 60,000 of those will die. 50% of the survivors never fully recover, and routinely require living assistance. Osteoporosis merits much attention.
So, it is very serious, and we are going to learn as much as possible, as there are some solutions out there, that are designed to work with the body, and not against it…
